"I Wish I Had Kissed You Tonight" is probably the second song that I actually finished writing, probably around age 16 or 17. Like a lot of the early songs, it is just true things that happened to me and requires little explanation.

Lyrics:

I may look at other girls but that's where it ends
I just look I don't care
'cause I know that they can't be the friend that you are
and our friendship's alright
I just wish I had kissed you tonight

As I sit up here at 1:35
It's a wonder to me if our love's still alive
Will you ask me out again
I sure don't know
If I ask you out
Aw, would you say no

I wish I had told you but now it's too late
I got out of your car I've sealed my fate
You could think I don't love you
Because I had to wait
I wish I had kissed you tonight

Oh, hell, I won't look at other girls
From now 'til the end
I won't look I won't care
'cause I know they all can't be the friend that you are
and our friendship's alright
I just wish I had kissed you tonight
I wish I had kissed you tonight
Aw, I wish I had kissed you tonight
